Halloween Party 2010

As you probably already know, we are having a Halloween party on Friday the 29th!!!  What you may not know is that we need snacks for our Halloween party.   If you want to help out by sending finger foods, paper goods, or other treats for the party it would be greatly appreciated.  All food items for our parties must be store-bought.  No home-made items are allowed.  Please just put a note in your child’s folder to let me know what you can send or just go ahead and send it early – which ever is easier on you.

We would love for you to come to the party and share in the festivities with us – remember the party begins at 11:30 a.m.  We will eat lunch early that day and would really appreciate some parent volunteers to set up the party in the classroom while we’re in the cafeteria.  Please let me know if you can help out in any way.

The Head Start bus will leave the school at 12:20 p.m. as usual that day.

One other thing to mention is that the children are not allowed to wear their costumes to school for safety as well as practical reasons.  We don’t mind helping the children put their costume on for the party.  However, if your child’s costume is very elaborate or requires face paint, we ask that you plan to be here early to get your child dressed up.

Home Visits……

Hello everyone!!  I just want to remind everyone that we have home visits in the month of April.  Please call me to schedule these.  My calendar is already pretty full so I will need to speak to each of you personally about your family’s visit.  As always, feel free to call the classroom phone @ 580-927-2251, or on my cell @ 580-239-1967 (please do not call after 9 p.m.).

We will go to SOSU on April 7th to watch the play.  We will leave at 8:15 a.m. and should return around 11:00 a.m.

On April 27th, we are asking at least one adult family member to accompany each student on our final field trip of the year–our Big 5 Fish-A-Thon in Madill.  We will leave at 8:15 a.m. and return around 2:00 p.m.  The cooks will prepare sack lunches for the children, and Big 5 will provide luch for our volunteers!!!  You don’t need to bring anything for this trip–except for maybe some sunscreen or bug spray!   All of the fishing equipment is provided, so you don’t even need to bring that.  Just come prepared to have fun with your child and their classmates!!

Reminder………

I want to remind all of our Head Start parents that Thursday evening at 5:00 p.m. is our Parent Committee Meeting.  Please plan to attend this meeting–we will be discussing upcoming field trips, etc.  Child care is provided in the Head Start classrooms, but the parents will meet in the cafeteria.  Thanks to the faithful few who never miss! :)

January Field Trip

Hello again!!   On Jan. 26th, our class along with

the rest of our Pre-K & Head Start building will

be going to the Rex II Theater in Caddo, Ok

to watch the Alvin and the Chipmunks movie!!

We will leave the school at 8:15 a.m. (no later!) in

order to arrive at the theater by 9:00 a.m.  The

children will have a small soda and popcorn at

the movie and will return to the school in time to

eat lunch as usual.

2010……..

I can hardly believe it’s 2010 already!!!  How time does fly.

Our little class of threes is back and ready to be back!!!  It may be a bit difficult for everyone to get back into the swing of things, but I have a feeling it won’t be long before we’re rockin’ and rollin’ again!

Our regularly scheduled K-3 Parent Committee Meeting has been rescheduled.   This month, our Parent Committee Meeting is scheduled for Thursday, January 28, at 5:00 p.m. in the CAFETERIA.  Please drop your children off in their Head Start Classroom and then make your way over to the cafeteria.  We will have a guest speaker from the Coal County OSU Extension Office who will share ideas about preparing healthy, low cost meals for your family.  She will also demonstrate & prepare a dish for you at the meeting.

We will, as always, provide free childcare for your family.  We can also provide transportation to and from the meeting if you need it-just call the Big 5 office and schedule your ride with SORTS Transportation.  Be sure to tell them that this is for your child’s Head Start Parent Committee Meeting.

Make sure to put Jan. 28th @ 5:00 p.m. on your calendar and come to our meeting!!!

Looking forward to seeing you there!

If you have any questions, please contact me at 580-927-2251, preferrably after 1 o’clock in the afternoon.

Fall Festival

Our booth at the Fall Festival was a HUGE  SUCCESS!!!  Thanks so much to everyone that supported our little class of threes at the festival last night.  Our “marshmallow shooters” were so popular that we sold out.  We are taking orders for those of you who wanted one and didn’t get one at the festival.  They come in regular camouflage and pink camouflage and the cost is $5.00.
